A Whole 105,000 sq m More

Construction work recently began on the Salaris shopping center in Salaryevo in southwestern Moscow. The Russian capital is thus receiving one more enormous temple of consumption.

At the beginning of February, Horus Group announced the commencement of construction on a large shopping mall named Salaris on the Kiyevskoye highway. And “large” is no hyperbole: Set to become the “gate” to New Moscow, Salaris will boast around 105,000 sq m of GLA and be built as a part of New Moscow’s Salaryevo transport hub.

The design by the Hollywood-based architectural bureau 5+design, which has already implemented several large-scale projects in major capital cities, will become a seamless integration into the transport hub near Salaryevo village. The shopping center’s potential catchment area will exceed 1.2 million people (30 minutes by car), or more than 500,000 households.

The scheme should enjoy heavy footfall from the get-go due to the convenience of accessing it: By car, via the Kiyevskoye highway and the mall’s generous offering of 5,500 parking spaces, and by metro and numerous routes of public transport.

Salaris’s anticipated daily footfall is more than 70,000 people. The transport hub itself is focused on daily passenger traffic of more than 240,000. The metro station of the same name is designed to serve more than 40,000 people per day from the date of its opening.

The transport hub planning design includes a residential development with social infrastructure (polyclinic, schools, and kindergartens), which is now being built near the object by PIK Group.

Opening in the first quarter of 2019

“We are pleased that we have finally started the construction of this landmark project after a long design and approval process,” said Elena Kolyshkina, a representative of the Horus Group. “Salaris will give the residents of New Moscow all the privileges of metropolitan shopping and entertainment.”

The project concept provides for a hypermarket, a multiplex cinema by a leading national network, an electronics and appliance store, a furniture hypermarket, entertainment and family leisure activities, clothing and footwear stores, and restaurants and cafes.

As of today, the construction permit and plot development plan are available, project expertise has been passed, and the general contractor has completed mobilization and started excavation and foundation works. Commissioning of the project is planned for the fourth quarter of 2018 and the opening of the scheme for the first quarter of 2019.
