Trei Real Estate Moves into New Offices in Düsseldorf

Trei Real Estate GmbH (Trei), a property developer and property asset holder for residential and retail real estate, relocated from Mülheim an der Ruhr to Düsseldorf today. The real estate company had secured its new premises of around 2,400 square metres in the recently completed “Airport Office Six” property in September 2019.

In future, Trei’s entire workforce of currently about 80 staff will work out of its new location next to Düsseldorf Airport. The floor space could potentially accommodate more than 100 workplaces.

Pepijn Morshuis, CEO of Trei Real Estate, commented: “For us, the new office units signify that we are off to a fresh start in a new work environment. The modern office set-up is on top of the times, and encourages collaboration while simultaneously offering the option to retreat to a quiet place. On top of that, the removal enhances our appeal as employer. The convenient access to the public transportation system and the proximity both to the airport and to downtown Düsseldorf translate into a serious locational advantage for us.”

For employees, the removal is as easy as it could possibly be. “Due to COVID-19, many of our employees are working from home at the moment, and have barely taken note of the removal,” said Morshuis. At the new building, a completely equipped modern office concepts awaits them with bright and open floor areas, extensive office greenery and a large lounge-like common area that includes a fully-equipped kitchenette. Partition walls and meeting boxes create plenty of privacy. The technical equipment was upgraded to the latest standard, and permits fully digital and flexible work flows. “For us, the ongoing COVID-19 crisis in particular confirms that working remotely is not just a necessity but also an excellent way to work,” Morshuis added. In the development of its new office concept, Trei was advised by pro m2 GmbH, a property consultancy and project management company.

Trei previously had its head office at the Tengelmann site in Mülheim-Speldorf, where it had been located since its formation nearly 12 years ago. In January 2019, the Tengelmann Group had decided to abandon the site for good.
