SPAR Poland opens two EUROSPAR Supermarkets in Bydgoszcz, Poland

SPAR Poland has added two EUROSPAR stores in Bydgoszcz to its retail portfolio, bringing total store numbers in the market to 225. The new supermarkets are located in the city centre and offer customers a large variety of fresh food.

The EUROSPAR Supermarket at Nakielska Street, a main road leading to the centre of Bydgoszcz, has a sales area of 955m2. The other store at Grzymała is slightly larger with a sales area of 1,242m2. Both supermarkets are operated by an experienced independent retailer.

The stores feature an extensive choice of fresh food, including fruit and vegetables and an instore bakery with freshly baked bread and pastries. Furthermore, ready to eat dishes are prepared for customers onsite to take away.

Wayne Hodson, Chairman of the SPAR Poland Board, commented on the expansion: “We are working intensively on the conversion of stores to the SPAR Brand and have completed more than 70% of the conversion process. We are actively expanding our store network. We are in discussion with more retailers who are interested in joining SPAR.”

Ensuring the safety of SPAR employees and customers during the COVID-19 pandemic is an absolute priority for SPAR Poland. SPAR makes available personal protective equipment to ensure both customer and employee safety in the stores. In these stores, disinfectants and disposable gloves are readily available for customers.
