OASIS ENTERS ASSOCIATION WITH SUPERNOVA FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF PRIMA SHOPPING CENTER SIBIU IN ROMANIA

Oasis Retail Development & Consulting enters association with Austrian-based group Supernova for the development of Prima Shopping Center Sibiu, a retail park of 40,000 sq m localized North of Sibiu, near Hornbach.

Supernova is a leader in the development and property management of shopping malls and retail parks, activating on Slovenian and Croatian markets, with a portfolio of over 20 shopping centers. The partnership with Oasis for the project in Sibiu marks the entry of Supernova on the Romanian market.

“Supernova is a real estate developer with over 20 years’ experience in retail development. We have previously collaborated on the Austrian market and I am convinced that we will have a successful partnership in Romania too. We are now working on permitting, with the intend to start construction for the first phase in the autumn of 2019 and deliver it in Q2 2020”, said Klaus Reisenauer, Partner within Oasis.

“In Sibiu we own for a couple of years a land of 18 hectares in a key area, in the vicinity of Hornbach DIY store, with access to the main exit towards the Sebes highway and E81, connecting with Ramnicu Valcea and Bucharest. Due to the excellent accessibility both for individual and transit traffic we consider that now is the right time to develop this project of regional importance”, said Kurt Wagner, Partner within Oasis Development.

First phase, measuring 15,000 sq m, will comprise a hypermarket and a shopping gallery. It will target population in North and West of Sibiu, as well as the transit traffic in the area. For the second phase the developer targets a mix of retailers which trade large products and a hotel.
