Movement on the Largest Outlet Center in the Czech Republic

The Prague Outlet will count 30,000 sq m of GLA. The investor’s stated aim is to develop a premium offering, with light and airy interiors encompassing a host of designer and high street brands.

Set to open in 2017, The Prague Outlet is strategically located next to Václav Havel International Airport and is in close proximity of the city’s heart, which will give it access to Prague’s residential and tourist markets. With live departure boards, up-to-date flight information, and check-in kiosks, the new shopping-destination intends to lead the way in outlet marketing.

The scheme will host overall retail space of 30,000 sq m of GLA, making it the largest outlet center in the Czech Republic. It endeavors to be a prime fit for retailers looking to expand their outlet offering into Central Europe.

The investor, The Prague Outlet a.s., plans to open the outlet center in two phases. In the first phase, the opening will include a total of 20,000 sq m with space for 110 stores. During the second phase, a further 70 stores will open with a floor area of 10,000 sq m.

New highway exit

Martin Kubišta, head of The Prague Outlet a.s., said: “Our vision is to develop a premium offering, with light and airy interiors encompassing a host of designer and high street brands. The location right next to the airport and 25 minutes from the city center gives brands a unique retailing opportunity.”

The outlet center is currently under renovation, with the interior inspired by Prague’s luxury shopping destination Pařížská Street. The move will make The Prague Outlet a place of architectural differentiation and help consumers feel as if they are getting the true Prague shopping experience indoors and under cover. A new highway exit from the adjacent R7 has also been constructed to allow easier access for shoppers once the shopping destination is open.
