Jan Tanner heads Retail & Site Management at Privera

Shopping center expert Jan Tanner becomes the new Head of Retail & Site Management Switzerland at real estate service provider Privera. He succeeds Cengizhan Ari, who is leaving the company.

Privera announced that Jan Tanner will take over as Head of Retail & Site Management on May 1 and will report to CEO Dieter Sommer in the future. The department’s responsibilities include supervising sites with retail, office and residential use, managing shopping centers, as well as marketing retail space and coordinating tenant associations.

The 52-year-old Tanner has many years of experience in the field of shopping centers and district development: As branch manager for Switzerland, he supported Stücki Shopping in Basel and Westside in Bern for ECE; subsequently, he was Head of Real Estate Suisse Romande at Mobimo for four years, where he was involved in the positioning of the Flon-Quartier. Tanner was also president of the industry association Swiss Council of Shopping Centers (SCSC) from 2011 to 2017 and founder of the Shopping Center Forum. Since 2020, Tanner has worked as an independent consultant and has completed a Master of Advanced Studies in Real Estate Management from the Zurich University of Applied Sciences. He succeeds Cengizhan Ari, who has led Privera’s Retail & Site Management service line since 2018. Ari is leaving the company at the end of May 2021 to continue his career with a real estate owner as managing director, Privera says.
