Deutsche Hypo finances mall in Gdansk

Deutsche Hypothekenbank is financing Galeria Baltycka in Gdansk for the property company Shopping Center Galeria Baltycka GmbH and Co. KG sp.K.

The financing volume amounts to just under €81 million, of which 50% remain with Deutsche Hypo in the long term. The shopping center from Deutsche EuroShop AG’s portfolio opened in 2007 and is spread over five floors, with two floors devoted to more 1,000 parking spaces.

With around 200 shops, the center is characterized by a segment and tenant mix of international and national retailers. Centrally located at a transport hub in Gdansk, Galeria Baltycka, managed by ECE, has good visibility and accessibility by public transport.

“We are pleased to be able to expand our real estate portfolio in our target market Poland with this attractive financing,” explained Sabine Barthauer, member of Deutsche Hypo’s executive board. She continued: “Gdansk is one of the largest retail locations in Poland and Galeria Baltycka has boasted above-average performance for years thanks to its large catchment area and excellent tenant structure.”
