Designer Outlet Kraków: the new outlet shopping destination for Kraków and the Małopolska region

ROS Retail Outlet Shopping has been appointed as the management company. The opening is planned for Autumn 2021.

On March 5th, during a meeting with the tenants of KG Group – the Kraków investor and developer realizing the outlet center at Nowohucka Street – unveiled the new brand name, concept and architecture of the mall for their former Cracovia Outlet, located at Nowohucka Street in Kraków.

The new name of the outlet center is Designer Outlet Kraków and it has joined the “designer outlet” chain which is managed by ROS Retail Outlet Shopping, one of Europe’s leading operators of outlet destinations.

The Designer Outlets are represented in Germany, Hungary, Croatia, Portugal, and also in Poland by Designer Outlet Warszawa, Gdańsk, and Sosnowiec.

“The concept of our outlet center in Kraków was well thought out and prepared in every detail, as a result we were able to convince many tenants with a recognized market position to lease space in it. Changing the name of our center will give the project a new incentive for development. We are pleased to be able to benefit from the awareness of a successfully established outlet center brand in the Polish retail market” says Krzysztof Gaczorek, President of KG Group.

Designer Outlet Kraków has a gross lettable area of 20,000 m2 and offers more than 120 fashion and lifestyle brands 30-70% off, in comparison to the recommended retail price, all year round.

Also, the modern architecture of the mall will reflect the new design approach. The objective is to create a warm and friendly atmosphere with innovative materials. The architectural details will be emphasized by glass elements with a copper finish.

The center will house six cafes & restaurants. “The categories and brand mix of Designer Outlet Kraków is based on our Polish and international experience and includes 50% of the stores are designer and fashion brands. The sports & outdoor, shoes & leatherwear, home, accessories, children’s clothing, and catering categories will provide a unique shopping experience. We are following a fashion & lifestyle approach to attract the catchment as well as tourist”  says Mireia Rodriguez Burguera, Head of Leasing, ROS Retail Outlet Shopping.

According to a recent GfK study, the center has a catchment of 4.86 million residents within a 90-minute drive time and tourism potential of more than 14 million tourists, who visited Kraków in 2019 (Małopolska Tourist Organization).

The outlet has 2,000 parking spaces in the underground and above ground system, which is accessible via two entrances. A public transport bus stop is planned to be built right next to the center. The mall will be located in the central part of the city, in an already established commercial zone and the adjacent Expo Kraków. The location benefits from the proximity to the dynamically rising residential infrastructure. Perfectly situated on one of the main roads of Kraków, the center has excellent access from the city, via the A4 motorway and the S7 express road, which is frequently used by the inhabitants of the region. This environment and the new Designer Outlet Kraków brand will make the center the new outlet shopping destination for Kraków and the Małopolska region as well as an attraction for the huge tourism potential.
