Christoph Andexlinger succeeds Stephan Mayer-Heinisch at ACSP

One year ago, the long-standing chairman of the Austrian Council of Shopping Places (ACSP), Stephan Mayer-Heinisch, announced his retirement after 21 successful years. His long-standing deputy, Christoph Andexlinger took over the function of the chairman, for which he had already been elected last year, as planned during the General Assembly.

Andexlinger’s main role is Chief Operations Officer (COO) of Austria’s largest shopping center operator SES. As the new chairman, he wants to further expand the ACSP platform for the retail real estate industry. Stephan Mayer-Heinisch has been a member of the association’s board since its founding in 1992, and its chairman since 2001. Andexlinger, who had been deputy chairman since 2011, takes office with much praise for his predecessor: “Stephan Mayer-Heinisch has repeatedly set important initiatives for the association over all these years. He is a great mediator, who always strives for common solutions and objective discourse.”

“Christoph Andexlinger is not only an experienced retail real estate manager with extensive expertise, but also someone who can build bridges. This is especially needed in times like these. I am delighted to be able to place the management of ACSP on his hands,” says Mayer-Heinisch, who has also been appointed as an honorary member by the association in gratitude for his great commitment. With his move to the advisory board, he will remain with the ACSP.

With his board team, which consists of Roman Schwarzenecker (Secretary General of the ACSP), Paul Douay (Unibail Rodamco Westfield), Gernot Zöhrer (ECE), and Stefan Krejci (Re/max Commercial Group), Andexlinger is particularly committed to ensuring that the stationary retail, gastronomy, and service sectors have the framework conditions they need to compete with online business.

“We want to further expand the ACSP as a platform for all those who want to continue to create attractive shopping destinations in the real world and contribute their creativity to this end,” says Andexlinger. He has been working in the shopping center industry for 24 years. Since 2021, he has been Chief Operations Officer of SES Spar European Shopping Centers GmbH, based in Salzburg. He has also been an active board member of the European Council of Shopping Places (ECSP) since 2021.
