Altera wins the GRESB-BREEAM Award for most responsible investor

During the 2020 BREEAM Awards in London, real estate investor Altera Vastgoed was honored with the GRESB/BREEAM ‘Responsible Investment’ award for its Retail portfolio.

The ‘Responsible Investment’ award is based on several criteria such as percentage of assets with a BREEAM certification, the GRESB Score as a measure of holistic ESG performance and demonstrated commitment to sustainability by the manager. The GRESB Management Team and members of the Real Estate Advisory Board selected Altera Vastgoed as winner.

Erwin Wessels, CIO Altera: “We are very proud to have received this award. We apply an integrated approach to sustainable and responsible investments in both our strategy and operation. Therefore, we have included the BREEAM certification for our entire retail investment portfolio. This provides an objective assessment which enables the increase of sustainability and captures the sustainability potential aligned with a multi-year ‘green’ budget. Multiple ESG KPIs are set to monitor the progress.”

Jaap van der Bijl, CEO Altera: “We are convinced that our strategy focussing on an integrated ESG in our investment portfolio creates a green dual return.
