Altera sells Arendshof II shopping centre in Oosterhout

Real estate investor Altera Vastgoed NV has sold the Arendshof II shopping centre in oosterhout. The property comprises approximately 9,125 sq. m comparisson retail space and an indoor parking garage with 562 parking spaces.

The shopping centre is currently being leased to H&M, Intertoys, Van Haren Schoenen, D-Reizen, Beter Horen, Hans Anders and various local entrepreneurs.

With this sale, Altera completes the year 2020 in which the retail portfolio is further optimized to the strategic convenience retail portfolio. In addition to the sale of non-strategic assets in, amongst others, the city centers of Deventer, Emmeloord and Rotterdam and the Rijnplein shopping centre in Alphen, the ALDI supermarket in Zwijndrecht was added to the portfolio. At the end of 2019 the convenience centers Westwijk in Amstelveen and Zijdelwaard in Uithoorn were acquired.

Erwin Wessels, CIO of Altera: “In recent years we have worked with the municipality of Oosterhout and developer Maas-Jacobs on the vision to transform Arendsplein into an inner-city residential environment. This sale to the municipality will enable it to take the next step in the implementation of its vision. Approximately 75% of our portfolio now consists of food and convenience real estate and will grow further in 2021 through buying and selling and asset management activities.”

Altera was advised by Cushman & Wakefield during the sale.
