Al Rifai pop up promotion invites passengers to discover nuts and kernels at Frankfurt Airport

The Lebanese nut retailing company Al Rifai is showcasing its “Flies you Nuts” pop up concept stage at Frankfurt Airport in Z Main Non-Schengen from April until July 2019.

Frankfurt Airport Retail, a joint venture between Gebr. Heinemann and the airport operator Fraport, is the first retail partner worldwide to have this new Al Rifai concept instore. Moreover, the Al Rifai collection will be available at Frankfurt Airport Online Shop as well.

Medleys, noble nuts and authentic delicacies in an innovative recyclable packaging
The products on offer across the 40 square meter stage range from hand picked classics such as salted cashew nuts, mixed kernels and roasted almonds to surprising and modern variations like jalapenos cashew and citrus chili pistachios including the Gebr. Heinemann exclusive cashew truffle. The pop up stage itself boasts a clean design of open space with a tasting area and unique technologies to experience the brand. By browsing the company’s website, customers can discover the history, traceability and origins of the products. An LED screen will be on display showcasing the product, packaging and moods.

Exclusive travel retail concept and packaging for Gebr. Heinemann
“Since its introduction into our assortment in 2016, Al Rifai has become one of the top ten brands in our core Fine Food category. We are very pleased with the premium quality of Al Rifai products and the brand’s openness to develop innovative travel retail concepts such as “Flies you Nuts” for Gebr. Heinemann. This is a great confirmation of our mutual commitment, which we will continue to develop in future,” says Karoline Schlick, Senior Buyer Fine Food & Regionals at Gebr. Heinemann.

All Al Rifai products on the pop up stage come in a microwavable tray, because it is only after heating them that the nuts will unfold their full flavour. Each tray is prepared by hand, carefully selected and manually inspected. The innovative packaging was designed for this promotion in close collaboration between Al Rifai and Gebr. Heinemann’s Fine Food Purchasing department.

“The traveler, for years, was missing the fine experience of quality nuts and kernels in the world of travel retail. Awakening aromas, hand-selected varieities, and unique packaging all embobies this new exclusive concept. We are introducing the three new categories of medleys, noble nuts an delicacies spanning over 24 insanely delicious products. On our website customers can track and trace all ingredients. We source all of our raw nuts and kernels responsibily and fairly.
Globally, no other nut company is as committed to development and innovation as we are. With our partner Gebr. Heinemann, we are excited to mutually launch this breakthrough concept that will change the future of snacking,” says Jean Nader, Commercial Director of Al Rifai.

Healthy snacks on the rise at Gebr. Heinemann
Contrary to many other nut suppliers, Al Rifai nuts are not fried, they are roasted. The gentle process and the high quality of the raw product make them a healthy alternative to traditional snacks. This corresponds to the growing trend among consumers for conscious consumption of high-quality and nutritious foods. “The range of healthy snacks and gifts available to travellers has traditionally been very limited, particularly at the airport. To satisfy growing demand and changing customer needs, we are continuously expanding our segment of healthy snacks. We want to offer customers products that fit to their individual lifestyles and Al Rifai is a perfect match for that,” Karoline Schlick concludes.
