New shopping center Nikolsky opened in Kharkiv (Ukraine)

A new shopping center Nikolsky opened in the heart of the Ukrainian city Kharkiv – with 106,000 sq m of GBA, 53,000 sq m of GLA, and 700 parking spaces. There are about 150 shops, the largest Multiplex in the city, a bowling-club, the Smile Park (an entertainment center for children), the sports club Sport Life and many more.

The center also includes a food court with 7 restaurants and 450 seats. Among its anchors are Silpo, the Ukrainian market leader in the supermarket sector, with interiors designed in dieselpunk style, as well as H&M with its first store outside of the Ukrainian capital, Zara, New Yorker, LCWaikiki, FLO, Foxtrot, House, Cropp, etc. The total investment amounts to about 110 million euros, 53.6 million of which a bank loan from the Polish state bank BGK.

The concept of Nikolsky is devoted to the history, people, and celebrities of the city. The interiors mirror the city achievements, main events, local culture, and flavors. At the same time, it is designed in contemporary and futuristic style. A huge domed glass canopy roof (3,200 sq m – which is a Ukrainian national record), a single atrium space without columns, interactive floors, augmented reality systems, theme-styled suites, and many other have become distinctive features of Nikolsky.

Maksym Gavryushyn, Chief Operating Officer, Budhouse Group: “Nikolsky is one of the most successful projects of the retail property sector in Ukraine. The results of its first month have exceeded our expectations. The shopping center was launched with a 95% occupancy rate – this is a very good indicator in view of the pandemic. In addition, more than 99% of the leasable area was allocated before the opening. Over 1 million people have already visited the mall in the first 3 weeks. Tenants are reporting record-breaking sales. For many of them their turnover generated in our mall is the highest in the country. We are proud of these results, and we will strive to make our future projects as successful as Nikolsky.”

Budhouse Group is one of the largest development companies in Ukraine. The group works with shopping centers all over Ukraine, in cities such as Kherson, Cherkasy, Lviv, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, and Odessa.
