Shopcore partners with Mallcomm to create digital tenant engagement model across US portfolio

ShopCore Properties has selected Mallcomm to deliver a customized digital tenant-engagement platform across its portfolio of retail properties.

The operator leases and manages a portfolio of more than 50 convenience retail centers, located in high-density submarkets and anchored by leading grocery retailers, services, entertainment and dining, across 15 U.S. states including California, Florida, New York, Pennsylvania, and Texas.

The software, branded in the app store as “ShopCore Properties,” will house critical information for tenants and allow for streamlined facilities management and local community building. The platform also provides a streamlined critical communications function which allows information to be disseminated instantly during an incident or change in COVID-19 status, improving operational resilience.

Mallcomm as proptech platform now spans 650 centers, comprising more than 37 million sq m of retail space. Its clients also include property owners Brookfield Properties, Oxford Properties, Mall of America and Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield.

Randall McKillop, EVP Americas, Mallcomm, said: “Working together we will create a new digital management model, whereby ShopCore’s asset managers, on-site property management teams and retail tenants are all connected and collaborating in real-time to drive operational efficiencies and enhance the experience for visitors. We are in the process of rolling out the platform across the portfolio and aim to be operational by Thanksgiving.”

Ryan Byler, Senior Director of Property Management, ShopCore, said: “As a preeminent owner and operator of community, power and grocery-anchored centers throughout the country, digital transformation is a large part of our strategy, especially when it comes to our commitment to creating community both within our centers and with the markets we serve.”
