Repositioning of Forum Muelheim

For the repositioning of the ‘Forum Muelheim’, the upper and lower floor (basement) with a total of 14,500 sq.m of the total rental space of around 52,000 sq.m will be comprehensively refurbished by the end of 2023.

The new areas will be available for health, therapeutic and care services and will complement the existing retail and F&B offer. In addition, a kindergarten will be built on the ground floor. The centre will remain open during the entire renovation works.

The new symbiosis of different areas of life and customer needs will create synergies for more quality of stay and service for the centre. The value potential a mix of medicine and retail can produce, was confirmed in a survey commissioned by Commerz Real and conducted by the market research institute Civey in the summer of this year. According to the survey, a move to a shopping centre or office building is a conceivable option for about 44 percent of the surveyed doctors in private practice in Germany.

The planned conversion demonstrates Commerz Real’s commitment to a sustainable development of the location, in order to meet the evolving consumer trends and expectations,” explains Daniel Wahle, Centre Manager Forum Muelheim.
