Corona crisis: Many events are postponed

Mipim was just the beginning. Mapic Italy (including “The Happetite”), Mapic Russia, Magdus, etc. are following.

Reed Midem announced at the beginning of this month that Mipim will not take place from March 10 to 13, 2020 due to the coronavirus. The biggest real estate fair in Cannes was rescheduled for June 2 to 5, 2020. At that time there was still hope that the pathogen would slow down and other industry events could happen as planned. This hope has now evaporated. Yesterday, Reed Midim announced that Mapic Russia and Mapic Italy will also be postponed: the former will be rescheduled from April 21 to 23, 2020 until September 16 to 18, 2020; the latter, which includes the food and beverage fair “The Happetite” will be moved from April 28 and 29, 2020 to July 1 and 2, 2020.

The outlet center conference “Magdus” was supposed to take place in Paris on March 25, 2020, but this is no longer the case. The new date is October 8, 2020. The 16thAnnual International Conference on Real Estate Development was scheduled to happen in Zagreb on May 12 and 13, 2020. This event is now postponed as well. However, a new date has yet to be confirmed. The 2ndSwiss Council Congress, the annual event of the Swiss Council of Shopping Centers, already has a new date–September 18, 2020. Its original date was April 22, 2020. Unfortunately, this summary of postponements can make no claim to be complete.
