Leasing running smoothly at MEC

New and re-letting of 71,000 sq m in 2019.

MEC METRO-ECE Centermanagement GmbH & Co. KG looks back on a successful leasing year 2019. In total, new and follow-up leases with a total area of 71,000m² were concluded in the past year.

These included contracts with well-known retailers such as Adler Modemärkte, Reno, Arko, Takko, Hunkemöller, TK Maxx, New Yorker, Ernsting’s Family, Kaufland, Woolworth, Deichmann, eyes&more, Baby One, Modepark Röther, JeansFritz, Kik, Fressnapf, MediMax and Kieser Training.

“We are pleased that we were able to rent out just as many spaces as we did the year before last. This success is not least due to the high level of tenant satisfaction in our centers,” says Christian Thiele, Head of Leasing Management.

In addition, the increase in personnel and stronger regional positioning of the leasing managers has borne fruit. Various consulting mandates in the form of post-leasing concepts, support with purchase audits and the transfer of market knowledge and experience to MEC’s clients were successfully implemented.

Spitzkrug Multi Center and Mercatura Aalen further developed

It should be emphasised that MEC has concluded long-term follow-up rental agreements for Spitzkrug Multi Center (Frankfurt/Oder) with Kaufland, Dänisches Bettenlager and MediMax, among others. The leading position in the regional market was thus secured. With the new tenant Kieser Training and some optimisation of the office space, Mercatura Aalen was developed a little further in the direction of a mixed-use property.
