Woking Shopping welcomes French Connection

Woking Shopping, in Surrey, England, has officially welcomed globally renowned retailer, French Connection, enhancing the destination’s fashion and lifestyle offering for the new year.

Situated within the Town Mall, the 1,260 sq ft store is neighboured by Fat Face and Claire’s, and joins Woking Shopping’s existing line-up of leading fashion brands such as H&M, Primark and New Look.

The new French Connection boutique is an extension of the design-led brand’s aesthetic: clean and minimalist, with a predominantly neutral palette and elegant features. The store houses the label’s distinctive and timeless womenswear and accessories, along with its industrial-inspired homeware collections.

Cllr David Bittleston, Leader of Woking Borough Council, commented: “As we continue with our town centre regeneration plans, Woking is fast becoming a destination of choice for premium brands. We are very excited that French Connection has chosen Woking to open its latest store, which will add to our retail and restaurant offer.”

Neil Woodward of Moyallen, Asset Manager for the Peacocks Centre, added: “The launch of French Connection is a great first stride into 2020, and signals the positive advancement we expect to see in the year ahead as we continue to evolve Woking into a top destination for retail and leisure.  The premium quality of the brand sits seamlessly with our other international retailers and creates an even more compelling fashion offering for visitors.”

French Connection’s launch coincides with the ongoing progress of Victoria Square, set to open in May 2021.

The mixed-use development includes 125,000 sq ft of new retail floorspace anchored by a 50,000 sq ft Marks & Spencer store and 27,000 sq ft Boots; 429 residential apartments in two towers of 30 and 34 storeys; 1,570 new car parking spaces; two new public plazas; and 189-room four-star Hilton Hotel.

Upon completion of the development, Woking’s market potential will increase by 11% to £226m.
