Supernova acquires ten shopping centers in Slovenia

Austrian real estate company Supernova Group, confirmed that it has acquired ten Qlandia shopping centers in Slovenia from Centrice Real Estate GmbH.

The Qlandia package comprises of market-leading shopping centers located in Kamnik, Kranj, Krško, Maribor, Nova Gorica, Novo Mesto and Ptuj. In addition, Supernova also acquired a string of shopping parks in Metlika, Ravne na Koroškem and Slovenske Konjice.

The second retail acquisition in 2019

The volume of the transaction amounts to more than 220 million EUR and is the second key investment by the Supernova Group in Slovenia in 2019, following its acquisition of ten Mercator shopping centers. The transaction is being financed by Supernova’s owned funds, in cooperation with several international and local banks.

“The portfolio rounds off our current holdings portfolio and ensures that we can now offer the Slovenian population comprehensive coverage,” stated Markus Pinggera, Managing Director of Supernova. 

The Qlandia shopping malls are located in several Slovenian regions and host attractive international tenants such as dm, Interspar, Muller drogerie,  Deichmann, Humanic, H&M, Hervis, and McDonalds. 

“We are delighted at this further milestone and after the physical handover in the next few days we will commence the integration of the centres into the Supernova network. We have strong synergies in the management and advertising of centres and can thus substantially improve the overall presence of Supernova in Slovenia,” stated Jakob Eichberger, Head of Centre Management at M2 Group which manages the centres for Supernova.

Slovenia had always been a very successful core market for the Supernova Group and this transaction has secured its market leadership in the country in the long term. 

The Slovenian projects now accounts to 30 percent of the Group’s overall portfolio, while its annual rent exceeds 100 million EUR.
