Lush scents success as it relocates to Centre:mk

Opening in time to benefit from centre:mk’s significant Christmas trading period, during which footfall is anticipated to exceed seven million visits, Lush, the handmade bath art and cosmetics brand, has recently launched a 2,793 sq ft store in centre:mk.

The vegetarian, vegan and cruelty-free retailer has relocated and doubled in size from Intu Milton Keynes to create the new centre:mk experience-led store.

Situated at 58-60 Midsummer Arcade, the store has been designed by an in-house team and stocks Lush’s complete range of handmade ethical and sustainable products, including its latest festive collections. It features a layout and merchandising that has been created to encourage customers to interact with products. The Lush team are also on-hand to provide expert knowledge and demonstrations to customers, further enhancing the experience.

Hannah Downs, Shop Manager for Lush at centre:mk, said: “Our customers have been asking for a bigger shop for many years – this has been a long time coming! We can’t wait to have more space for them all to shop comfortably this Christmas.”

Rosie Goodbourn, Store Design and Materials Researcher, commented: “At Lush we pride ourselves on sourcing the most ethical materials possible and this includes the materials we use to fit our shops. We want to show that it is possible to have beautiful, innovative store design that supports our ethics as a company.”

Ed Sellick, Asset Manager for Hermes Investment Management, joint owners of centre:mk with AustralianSuper, added: “Consumers are increasingly making more informed choices about where they shop and the brands they engage with. We are reflecting that in how we evolve centre:mk’s offer, which is why Lush is such a key addition. They successfully combine great products with genuine purpose as a brand, something that reflects centre:mk’s position in the community and wider region.”

Lush joins Skechers, the global footwear brand, on Midsummer Arcade, which last month opened a 2,800 sq ft store. In addition, Neon Sheep, the creative stationery and lifestyle brand, recently launched a 1,723 sq ft unit on Sunset Walk.
