ALL NEINVER CENTERS ISO 50001 CERTIFIED

Neinver has obtained ISO 50001 certification from TÜV Rheinland for all its shopping and outlet centers. The company is the first European business in the retail real estate sector to have an energy management system that complies with the internationally recognized standards of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

“We have always been committed to protecting the environment and climate and to improving socio-economic quality on site. Successfully functioning energy and environmental management systems enable the sustainable and largely environmentally friendly use of resources. For this reason, we are very excited about the new ISO 50001 certification, since it again distinguishes our commitment in the field of sustainability,” Mónica Delgado, Neinver’s CSR Director explains (middle in photo).

Between 2012 and 2013, the company’s share of renewable energy in total consumption doubled from 15 to 30% and it reduced the CO2 emissions of its shopping and outlet centers by 22%. Including new store openings and all expansion and renovation measures, Neinver has managed to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 12.2% overall.
