SEVEN DIALS WELCOMES UNIQUE TRIO OF SPECIALIST RETAILERS

Shaftesbury has announced that three independent, specialist retailers totalling 5,000 sq ft are joining Seven Dials, enhancing the unique character of the shopping and lifestyle destination in the heart of London’s West End.

Bolstering the existing range of eclectic boutiques across the seven interconnecting streets, Seven Dials welcomes: The Cambridge Satchel Company – the iconic British men’s and women’s accessories brand inspired by traditional schoolbags; Nappa Dori – the luxury lifestyle label which tributes quintessential Indian craftsmanship and the bygone romance of travel; and BLOCH – the industry leader in women’s technical dance and active wear products.

The signing of The Cambridge Satchel Company marks the return of the brand after opening its original store in the retail district ten years ago. Due to open in February 2019, the new store will be situated at 37 Neal Street, and has been designed in-house to serve as the flagship for the brand’s successful array of UK locations.

Making its UK and European debut, Nappa Dori will be arriving at 15 Monmouth Street this Spring. Translating from Hindi as ‘leather and thread’, the brand is firmly rooted in its Delhi roots, specialising in hand-crafted luggage and accessories, as well as stationary and homewares.

Serving as the brand’s new UK flagship, BLOCH’s boutique has opened across two floors at 69-71 Monmouth Street, taking advantage of the neighbouring dance and theatre companies within the local area. Designed by GMP Design Associates, the site showcases a mix of the brand’s ballerina street pumps, street-to-studio sneakers and the new BLOCH Studio activewear.

From The Cambridge Satchel Company’s personalisation service, to BLOCH’s tailored pointe shoe fittings and Nappa Dori’s customisable handmade products, the trio reinforces Seven Dial’s distinctive character and personalised offering.

Commenting on the announcements, Addy Williams, Retail Portfolio Manager at Shaftesbury said: “To welcome The Cambridge Satchel Company back to Seven Dials, after serving as an incubator for the company in its establishment ten years ago, really captures the strong sense of community we offer to brands. Along with BLOCH and Nappa Dori, the three openings reflect our strategy of building a rich mix of boutiques and a bespoke experience for visitors, in the heart of the bustling West End.”

Julie Deane OBE, Co-Founder of The Cambridge Satchel Company, added: “We’re thrilled to announce we’re coming home to Seven Dials, which has been a special location for the brand since the opening of our beloved first shop in Short’s Garden back in 2009. Part of our expansion success has been ensuring we surround ourselves with other quirky and independent brands, which is why Seven Dials is an obvious choice for our flagship.”

This news follows Seven Dials’ recent celebrations to mark 90 years of Agatha Christie’s iconic novel ‘The Seven Dials Mystery’, set within the unique London destination. A secret book trail was launched, inviting shoppers to discover one of 90 books hidden within the area, while British artist Iona Rowland was commissioned to create a public work of art which has been exhibited in Short’s Gardens since Monday 7 January.

JLL and Nash Bond represented Shaftesbury. The Cambridge Satchel Company and Nappa Dori dealt directly, Savills acted for BLOCH.
