OPENED NOVEMBER 28

With 230,000 sq m of GLA, Avia Park in Moscow is one of the largest shopping centers in Europe. AMMA Development is responsible for the project.

The Russian capital rejoiced on November 28. The reason? It was the day of the grand opening ceremony of Avia Park – one of Europe’s largest shopping and entertainment complexes. It was developed by Amma Development and implemented by Renaissance Construction. The gigantic shopping center is located on Khodynka Field in the vicinity of the Dinamo and Aeroport metro stations. The total area of the scheme, including parking, amounts to 492,000 sq m. The total enclosed area is 390,000 sq m, which is equal to 36 football fields. The total leasable area amounts to 230,000 sq m.

The Avia Park complex consists of shopping, entertainment, and office areas. It has some permanent stores (a hypermarket, a home improvement warehouse, sports and furniture stores, and a cinema) within an area of 128,000 sq m and over 500 stores, providing shopping opportunities in a new high-quality retail area. The mall has all the latest entertainment facilities, including Russia’s largest multiplex cinema, 80 restaurants, a food court, and an aquarium 6m in diameter and 22m tall located on the main corridor. The fourth floor of the complex includes green area arranged in the style of a city garden. Avia Park has a two-level parking lot with a capacity of 5,000 vehicles.

CONSIDERABLE CATCHMENT AREA

The stylish and functional architectural design provides a lot of space, air and light. The distinctive feature of the complex is its 12,000-sq-m glass roof. A great blend of fashion, entertainment, and leisure make the mall a good choice for shoppers and visitors. The shopping center’s scale and concept is based on its catchment area, which encompases seven out of 12 of Moscow’s administrative districts, with a population of more than 6.8 million people.

The Russian capital is already home to around 200 shopping centers. With the opening of Avia Park, it will host seven properties with a GLA of more than 100,000 sq m. If all these great shopping centers are built, the market for supra-regional shopping centers in the city will be extremely tight.
